'Most South Africans Love Israel'
Pro-Israel South African MP, Rev. Dr. Kenneth Meshoe, rubbishes 'apartheid' slurs, calls on Israelis to be more self confident.

Rev. Dr. Kenneth Meshoe, a courageous pro-Israel voice in South Africa, who is visiting Israel as part of his activity in the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, told Arutz Sheva that despite misconceptions, most South Africans love Israel, and noted that many South African churches have “Israel” and “Zion” in their names.
However, he explained, the anti-Israelis are better financed and tend to be louder than supporters, whereas Israel's supporters are more shy.
Rev. Meshoe, an MP for the African Christian Democratic Party and Chairman of the South African Israel Allies Caucus, emphasized the ridiculousness of charges that Israel is an “apartheid state.”
To the contrary, he said, Israel is the only democratic state in the Middle East. He explained that if Israel were truly an apartheid state, Arabs could not vote, could not have freedom of movement or live in Jewish areas, could not use the same hospitals as Jews – whereas in Israel you see Arab teachers teaching Jewish children, you see Arab doctors treating Jewish patients, and an Arab even serves as a Supreme Court judge.
Israel needs to be more more assertive, and to speak out much louder than it currently does in its defense. He called on Israelis to invite people to Israel to see the reality on the ground. “If people come, they are going to realize, 'it's all a lie,'” he predicted.
"I am a self-appointed ambassador for Israel, because I love this country. It's beautiful,” he beamed.
