ADL Recommends Books About Israel For Students K-12

New York, NY, January 8, 2007… The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has created a new bibliography of books about Israel that can be used by educators and parents as an effective educational resource.

Hand picked and individually reviewed, the books on ADL's Israel Book Connections list include fiction recommended for grade levels Kindergarten through 12 and cover a wide range of topics and interests related to the people and history of Israel.

The new initiative includes fiction for Elementary school students by beloved writers such as Mark H. Podwal, author of "Jerusalem Sky: Stars, Crosses and Crescents," and Kathy Walden Kaplan, author of "The Dog of Knots," for Middle School students by renowned writers such as Carol Matas, author of "After the War," and Sonia Levitin, author of "The Singing Mountain" and "The Return," and for High School students by esteemed writers such as Leon Uris, author of "Exodus," and A.B. Yehoshua, author of "A Late Divorce" and "The Lover".

This project was launched by ADL's New York Regional Office. The Israel Book Connections list, available through ADL's Web site, will be continually updated and can be seen at http://www.adl.org/israel/books.
